More advertisement, announcement and jazz concerts allowing people the privilege/opportunity to see and hear more jazz artist performing his/her music live. I do agree encouragement/support from bigcorporations would enhance more involvement.

I think jazz stations are actually part of the problem, too. It's hard to listen to jazz stations when they play the same stuff over and over again, and not necessarily even the best music there is to offer in the genre. You have to convince people jazz is not just elevator or outdated music, and more needs to be done to show there's a wide variety of music in the genre...NOT just the same stuff played on a local smooth jazz station...and not, as the public tends to think, just Kenny G, Sade and some of the other few jazz artists they know of. I don't think it should be that hard to get people who like pop, R&B and/or adult contemporary music to come around to jazz, especially when most people find themselves so fed up with mainstream music that they do some channel searching (I've never seen someone not go through the entire dial looking for something good to hear). If they can land on a jazz station that is playing something that catches the ear of a mainstream music listener, that jazz station has done its job.
