I'm not crazy when, I was 3, I cried because I had to sit in the back of an empty bus with my Grannie. In '63, I cried because Mom had to go to the back door of a Howard Johnson's to get a cup of coffee. When we moved to Atlanta in 63, I cried because the Klan was walking around in sheets and a pickup truck followed us on a dark road (a mom and two kids alone). In '68 I cried when Martin Luther King Jr. was killed, you see, I went to the same High School he went to and regularly attended Ebenezer Baptist when he preached. Now I'm going to cry on Tuesday when a black man takes the Oath of Office as PRESIDENT.. I ain't crazy for going to DC this I MUST DO for my dead grannie and mama.

Hello Bill, I was Crazee right along with ya as well as over a Million others, so we were in there. I started my crying during the Prayer, but when Ree-Ree (Aretha Franklin) came up to the podium with that Hat that slapped me back to my sense of fashion and sang I was all right for a minute.

I must say, being a part of history up close and personal was absolutely AWESOME. I'm just recovering.

It was a fantastic experience.. TOO many people.... the authorities were not ready no matter how much they tried... I stood like a sardine for hours... but my most important memory was the sense of Unity and Love all of the people had.. nobody was ugly no matter how much I bumped into them... and people were striking up conversations with complete strangers like they were old friends ... I think the experience was very close to spiritual... thanks for being there with me...

Thanks for sharing your experience thank God this time our tears we have shed are tears of joy. And dreams of our parents and friends and leaders such as Martin, Malcolm and more have become a reality. Going to DC to see Obama being sworn in is the best thing that many of us will ever experience.
