You can call me a late bloomer to just about everything in my life. I didn't start playing piano until I was 18 years old, was a virgin when I got married at 24, produced my first cd at age 36, and really didn't learn what it was to be a REAL MAN until after I got divorced at 40...LOL. In that time I had two wonderful children, built a multimillion dollar business, lost it all, started over, and am now finally doing what I was born to do. What I LOVE to do. So you could very well say that I do my best to live into that statement above. Right now I am the back nine of Life(you golfers will understand what I mean...lol) I am now ready to make my music known to the world. All of the my triumphs and tragedies, victories and defeats, and everything that Life has to offer I have included in every note, measure, and phrase in my music. Though I will never truly understand why things in Life happen the way they do I have learned one important lesson. That is that Life doesn't give a damn about any of us. It brings to us whatever it will without our permission or consent. It doesn't care about skin color, or how much money we have, where we live, or what we drive. It's coming at us whether we're ready for it or not, and I'm totally fine with that. That's why i live by a simple creed. LIFE IS A JOURNEY, NOT A DESTINATION. SO YOU MIGHT AS WELL ENJOY THE RIDE.
Where do you find your music?

I didn't want to throw someone's name out on the internet without their permission. It's not a coincidence how we meet people. I've heard Bryan's name from somewhere else, I'm thinking it might be from playing around the Detroit area, like the casino's or Baker's Keyboard Lounge, something like that. But, a few years ago I played organ for a friend who has a church on the east side of Detroit. I played there for four years and during that time I met and became good friends with a gentleman who is a trustee at that church. The pastor (my friend) used to sing "secular" music and this gentleman helped my friend get a contract with what was known as Atlantic Records at the time. I don't know if they're still around. My friend worked at a large retail chain store and he was allowed to go on tour, go through Europe and the Orient and come back to work several times. This gentleman I'm talking about was able to get my friend on Aretha's tribute special on BET, although my friend and Aretha have been friends since childhood. This gentleman also used to live in Brooklyn, N.Y. and worked for BMI. Motown recruited him and he came here to live and work at Motown as a producer, distributor and promoter until Motown moved to California. He didn't go because he knew the business so he stayed and started his own (actually two) companies. I've seen performers on televsion, then I would see him and he would give me a CD and tell me he had signed them and I didn't know that the performer was under contract with my friend. He picked out four songs that he wanted me to record (singing) and I just haven't done it yet. He also has a relationship with a company in the south that he promotes for and they do the same for him. One Sunday evening I was at his house and he had just received "Put it on Paper" with Al Green and it was still in shrinkwrap, just released and most people around here hadn't heard it yet. He told me he had to take it to the radio stations the next morning (Monday). That Monday evening I was shopping and heard the song over the intercom in the store and it occurred to me that my friend mentioned that he was taking the CD to the radio stations that day. I thought "he's fast". It was on WGPR. So I know people that know people, not jokingly or meaning anything other than I think your music is exceptional and deserves an international showcase. Keep me posted.
I thought about that later. I just had to deal with a time sensitive issue and I didn't get out of there till after midnight. That set would have been perfect for me because I wanted to see Bryan also. I expect that I'll be seeing you both soon anyway. Just keep me posted on the band's schedule. Does Bryan play with you often? Also, is the music on your page available on CD? Your chords are awesome and particularly "Theme of a Broken Heart" and "Do Life With Me". They just cut to the soul (mine anyway). I keep playing the cuts around the house but I need to be able to get them to the car, so are there any CD's available for sale and are you under contract with any music producer and/or promoter currently? The reason I ask is that I know people who know people. By the way, thanks for the info on your keyboard.
