Hello Dolores, Thank you again for becoming my friend.
Chris generally comes this way a few times a year. He does this Venue at a place called "The Rams Head" which by my standards is a small dinner theatre and of course I'm always at one of the tables in front of the stage. He played "My Funnny Valentine" to me the last time he was there, the lady next to me started crying because she was so moved, it was simply beautiful.
To give you an example of how popular he is there, his tickets the last time went on sale in April for a concert in November with two shows for two days, completely sold out in a matters of a couple of hours.
However, when he does "The Blue Note" in New York, he's there for about a week, oooowwweeee!!!
We will be seeing Rachelle Farrell there next month. Although this Venue is small by comparison to a concert hall. They have top shelf entertainment all the time. Wayman Tisdale was there last Friday.
For Capitol Jazz Festival when he performed in June, 2008. I called for tickets three minutes too early, the young woman told me I had to call back. Needless to say, I didn't hang up, I engaged her in conversation until those tickets went on sale, she said, I know what you're doing and I told her she was absolutlely right, Ha, Ha. I dare not tell you what I paid for them :-).
Do you ever go to the concerts at "Chateau Ste Michelle"? That's pretty close to you isnt it ? Its a shame you have to travel so far. With D.C. being the type of city it is, there is always something going on there every week.
Enjoy your trip, I know you'll have photos to share.
