Michael Lipsich is a retired ophthalmologist. He has been studying music and playing the piano and trumpet for over 50 years before embarking as a songwriter. Michael and Denny Slawn, a well-known jazz piano player and teacher, teamed up five years ago to produce three albums.
This pallet of music is the recreation of the sound and style that has been loved for the past forty years; romantic ballads, light jazz and salsa, beguine, bossa nova, and other Latin beats.
When Michael’s eldest grandson, Matthew Cin, heard a few songs and saw the positive reactions from both family and friends, he encouraged his grandfather to pursue a career in songwriting. Then and there, Michael’s original intention shifted from writing music as a pastime, to producing it for the mainstream music industry. When Matt started studying marketing at Indiana University, he decided to personally help promote his grandfather’s passion worldwide.
Since then, Michael has been successful in selling his music to the ABC Television Network and has built a website for future listening ability. Matt’s diligent work has led to the music’s acceptance on Itunes, Amazonmp3, Napster, Rhapsody, and Lala.com. Following entrance into the digital music business, Michael’s music practically sold itself. His music has been popular throughout the world, including Australia, New Zealand, and the United States.
Michael’s music is truly something special. Not only has it helped to preserve the styles of the past, but it has also enlightened younger generations and taught them to appreciate the original sound and quality of The American Songbook.
