I would like to ask women and men to participate in this challenge..
.... which was inspired by a collaboration named: “Graffiti Rain,” by myself: Lovely Brown & GasHaus.
…………. Also, this was inspired by people who opposed what I have written. I feel there is a need to not be “silenced” – do not mute yourselves when people are in disagreement of your belief – speak about it – let people hear what you have to say. “Silence” hurts.
................The challenge is as follows:
From your perspective (chose whatever makes you feel comfortable in sharing about yourself and/or the views around you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For example:
How does society enslave women (mothers, daughters, etc.
From a worldly standpoint… are cultures mis-understood when it comes to the treatment of women and if so… how?
In what ways do women enslave themselves?
What we can do... as a society.... to prevent ensla...
"Graffiti Rain" - Voices on women from around the world who live in captivity:
---The state or period of being imprisoned, confined, or enslaved.
Women are enslaved to prostitution, incurable diseases (cancer/HIV-Aids), war, abusive relationships, divorce, single parenting, a slave to their religion, depression, sexual addictions…
------The state or period of being imprisoned, confined, or enslaved.
………. "Graffiti Rain" = tears… the condensation of a woman: liquid, fluidity, movement… body is her survival.
Gashaus brings everything I wanted in this piece - power, the struggle, the sufferage, the overcoming, the beauty, the Seductress…… The woman… Lovely Brown.
Lovely Brown "The Seductress of Rhetoric Frenzy"
Lovely Brown (ÓLovelyBrnFemale), represents the new visionary vanguard of female Spoken Word/Vocal artist, utilizing ground-breaking techniques such as audio loops, samples, and a combination of singing with lyrics to set a remarkable audio.
Lovely realized her gift for dynamic poetic expression at five years of age when she won first place for painting a picturesque image of the Kansas City Zoo and its animals. From there she developed a curiosity for the art, and gained the self-confidence needed to branch into different styles of the craft.
Her greatest influences have been her parents, who both attended the Kansas City Art Institute, allowing her to grow up in the bosom of their artistic endeavors. Other influential elements were music-of-substance of the 1960's, poetry, writing, painting, photography, drawing, and gardening. In addition, her grandmother, an educator for 36 years, was a published author of many educational b...
A Killer Love Song:
I just to mention - I
I feel the twinkling of his hands
Mention don't mention, and...
I know
he makes amends..
And when I see the other side of you - I
I think of you
and all my skies turn blue
but when I taste your lips
I know what is true
I - I love you
Speaking of the sounds
In and out of my mind
speaking of what's around
I always sigh~~
When I look at you
I feel~~ all the earth's collied
because - I love you
It's sooooooooooo true...
I love you - yesss.... I do.
At a trinkling of an eye
I feel the straight winds through
When you walk up into my presence
I stay so subdued~~
when I know you're in my heart - I
you say babe.. "what you do"
as I~~ what you say...
I --
I ~~~
ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- In a small independently owned coffee shop on the corner of one of Atlanta's urban pockets, a group of would-be poets come together at open mic night for an evening of poetry and rhymes.
Emmy-nominated spoken word poet Jon Goode appears in CNN's "Black in America" series.
It's one of the monthly gatherings at Urban Grind coffeehouse that has lured talent as spoken word emerges from the underground.
Artists such as Tommy Bottoms, Goldie, Chas, Nukola, and TheresaThaSongbird take turns at the microphone testing their poetic skills. These bohemians of varying talent coin rhymes about subjects ranging from AIDS and prostitution, to high gas prices and the pangs of unrequited love.
But it was the MC who got the most props that night.
Jon Goode rounded out the evening to much laughter and applause with a lyrical diatribe about his mom and the nostalgia of his youth:
"Kids will be kids but moms will be moms, yo...
I'm crazy about this band and their music:
LYRICS:
Time is slipping away
Days go by, fade away
With one eye opened, one closed
I think you know
Love will make you beautiful
Love will make you beautiful
Thoughts swirl, spinning around
Weary, falling down
When out of the darkness a hand
Reach out
Hold fast
[Chorus]
Love will make you beautiful
Love will make you beautiful
Turn round this time
Love is there to find
Lift your head and see
Open uo your eyes
Love will make you beautiful
Love will make you beautiful
