About Me:
AS A PRODUCER KNOWN FOR HIS FIREY GUITAR PLAYING SKILLS AND LOVE OF HIP HOP, R&B AND SMOOTH JAZZ, JAMES "THE CHAMELEON" WHITE III IS SURE TO MOVE THE MASSES. THE CHAMELEON HAS CONTRIBUTED HIS STREET EXPERTISE TO A VARIETY OF CHICAGO-AREA HIT PROJECTS. JAMES HAS A UNIQUE TALENT THAT RANGES FROM HIP-HOP TO R&B TO SMOOTH JAZZ TO CONTEMPORARY GOSPEL, THUS EARNING HIS NAME, THE CHAMELEON. THE CHAMELEON HONED HIS MUSICAL SKILLS WITH LOCAL BANDS SUCH AS AUTOMATIC AND LINGERIE. HIS HUNGER FOR WRITING AND PRODUCING MUSIC LED HIM TO PRODUCE “I WANT YOUR LOVE” ON THE HOT MIX FIVE LABEL. THE CHAMELEON HAS WORKED WITH MICKEY MIXING OLIVER, LE BOYS, AND TRENCHCOAT. IN THE MID 90s, THE CHAMELEON TEAMED UP WITH NICHELLE, A GARY, IN. VOCALIST, TO WORK ON A MIDWEST-AREA TALENT CD COMPILATION. THIS PROJECT, ENTITLED CIRCULAR SOUL, DID WELL IN THE CHICAGO-AREA AND THROUGHOUT THE MIDWEST, BUT DID NOT SATISFY HIS HUNGER FOR SUCCESS. THE CHAMELEON AND NICHELLE DECIDED TO TEAM UP ON AN ALBUM TITLED, RELATIONS 1, RESULTING IN A DEAL IN ENGLAND WITH AN INDIE LABEL, STREET CULTURE RECORDS, LTD. THE DEAL WAS SECURED BY THEIR ENTERTAINMENT LAWYER TILLIE MALNAK OF CHICAGO. TILLIE RECEIVED A DEMO FROM THE DUO AND KNEW RIGHT AWAY THAT THEIR SOUND WAS SOMETHING SPECIAL. STREET CULTURE RECORDS FOLDED DUE TO FINANCIAL PROBLEMS, BUT THIS DID NOT STOP THE TWO AMBITIOUS PERFORMERS. IN 1999-2000, THE DUO COMPLETED WORK ON THEIR SOPHOMORE ALBUM, “MILLENAIRE: FEATURING THE BIRTH OF THE CHAMELEON,” A LAID BACK AND SEXY SOUL CD. THE CHAMELEON’S LATEST COLLABORATION WITH NICHELLE, BERKANA, OF WHICH HE PRODUCED FIVE TRACKS, WAS RELEASED IN JANUARY 2003 ON TASTE RECORDS. THE CHAMELEON ALSO IS COMPLETING WORK ON “DECEMBER,” A CD WHICH SHOWCASES HIS VERSATILITY. IN ADDITION, THE CHAMELEON IS WORKING WITH AN UP AND COMING LOCAL R&B VOCALIST ALISHA RENEE. THE DUO HAS COMPLETED A DOZEN SINGLES, INCLUDING “SHADES FRIENDS COME IN,” THE THEME SONG FOR THE BOOK, DIFFERENT SHADES FRIENDS COME IN, BY INDIANAPOLIS AUTHOR LATINA MARIE. THINGS ARE LOOKING BRIGHT FOR THE CHAMELEON, WHO IS A MEMBER OF ASCAP AND ALSO OWNS A PUBLISHING COMPANY, DUBB BOY MUSIC. BEING A PRODUCER AND WRITER MEANS TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS, AND THIS YOUNG MAN IS DEFINITELY ABOUT THAT. HIS MUSICAL INFLUENCES ARE JIMMY JAM AND TERRY LEWIS, PRINCE, RAY PARKER JR., BABYFACE, JEFFREY OSBORNE, AND SADE. JAZZ INFLUENCES INCLUDE MATTHEW MATHISON OF SADE, STING, PAUL HARDCASTLE, NORMAN BROWN, AND BRIAN CULBERTSON.

What Is Elton John Thinking?

The comments from Sir Elton to shut down the internet just really bother me! What if someone from the piano roll business or the sheet music publisher had told Thomas Edison that the phonograph needed to be destroyed because it was going to ruin the music business. Where would Elton or any other artist be today that succeed [...]
